Executives


Hamish Brewer, CEO
  • Promoted in August 2003 to current position responsible for overseeing all aspects of JDA and developing company strategy. The Company’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President/CFO report directly to Brewer.
  • Prior positions include President from 2001 to 2003; Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales from 2000 to 2001; Senior Vice President, Enterprise Systems, from 1999 to 2000; Senior Vice President, International, from 1998 to 1999; and Vice President, Europe, Middle East & Africa Operations from 1996 to 1998. Joined JDA’s UK office as an account manager in 1994 with a focus on sales and marketing.
  • Prior to JDA, worked for eight years at IBM as a retail specialist in sales and marketing. Also worked at a retailer in England with responsibilities for operations, information management, and stock control. 
  • Education: B.Sc. in Production Engineering and a B.Com. in Economics from the University of Birmingham, UK.
Kristen L. Magnuson, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
  • Joined JDA in 1997 as CFO with more than 20 years financial management experience.
  • Promoted in March 2001 to EVP overseeing JDA’s finance, investor relations, legal, accounting, IT and human resources departments.
  • Prior to JDA, spent seven years as Vice President of Finance and Planning for Michaels Stores, Inc. Successfully completed four public offerings, negotiated five acquisitions and several capital transactions. Responsible for investor relations, banking relations, strategic planning and long range financial forecasting.
  • Other previous positions include Senior Vice President and Controller for an $8 billion financial institution and Principal in the audit department at Ernst & Young. Gained experience in mergers and acquisitions and several industries including, software and services.
  • Education: B.B.A. from University of Washington; Certified Public Accountant.
Chris Koziol, Chief Operating Officer
  • Joined JDA in 2005 to assume the newly created Chief Operating Officer position, bringing with him more than 23 years of leadership in technology industry organizations.
  • Prior to JDA, spent 16 years with MicroAge, Inc., culminating to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer. Participating in MicroAge’s growth from a privately held organization to a $6 billion NASDAQ company.
  • Served as president of MicroAge Technology Services where he managed a $1.8 billion P&L, as well as led the company’s $5 billion Pinacor distribution subsidiary.
  • Education: Graduate of the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. B.S. in Business Administration (Marketing), University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ.

Senior Management Team


Philip Boland, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Consulting Services
  • Promoted in June 2006 to current position responsible for leading JDA’S global customer solutions and consulting services organization.
  • Previously served as Regional Vice President of Customer Solutions and Services; Asia Pacific; Vice President of Consulting Services, Asia Pacific from 1999 to 2005; Director of Consulting Services, Asia Pacific 1998 to 1999 Joined JDA in 1996 as Country Manager, Australia and New Zealand as part of JDA’s entry into that market.
  • Prior to JDA was a Principal Consultant for the Retail Industry IT practice at Price Waterhouse, Australia. Before returning to Australia served as Vice President Development and Professional Services for Uniquest Inc (formerly PRJ& a global supplier of retail application solutions and implementation services) in the US. At PRJ& also served as Managing Director PRJ& Europe and Director of Consulting US Eastern Region. Previously spent 10 years with Myer, Australia’s largest retailer, and held management positions in Buying, Sales and IT.
  • Education: B.A. (Economics) University of Melbourne, Post Graduate Diploma (Marketing) David Syme Business School, Caulfield Institute of Technology.
Brian Boylan, Senior Vice President, Human Resources
  • Promoted in March, 2007 to Senior Vice President, Human Resources, responsible for leading JDA’s global human resources organization.
  • Joined JDA in 2005, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience in human resources.
  • Prior to joining JDA, was a principal in Alliance HR Advisors, a human resources consulting firm.   Served as Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs and Human Resources for Asarco Incorporated, where he spent 16 years in various executive and management roles.  Former Assistant General Counsel for New York City Labor Relations Office. 
  • Education:  Juris Doctor degree, Brooklyn Law School;  BBA, Pace University in New York.
G. Michael Bridge, Senior Vice President, General Counsel
  • Promoted to Senior Vice President in August 2004. Responsible for JDA’s worldwide legal affairs. Principal activities include: software licensing, corporate governance, securities compliance and strategic alliances.
  • Coordinates legal aspects of JDA’s successful growth through acquisition strategy. Completed eight acquisitions since joining the company as Vice President and General Counsel in 1999.
  • Prior to JDA, spent eight years as primary corporate counsel for three technology companies. Successfully completed $130 million in acquisitions. Other previous experience includes corporate and securities associate attorney with Piper Rudnick, LLP in Baltimore, Maryland.
  • Education: Juris Doctor degree, Cornell University; B.A. degree, University of Southern California.
Arnaud Decarsin, Regional Vice President, EMEA
  • Promoted in January 2005 to his current role with responsibilities for entire region of Europe, Middle East and Africa.
  • Joined JDA in January 2004 as General Manager in charge of sales for Southern Europe (France, Spain, Italy).
  • Has more than 21 years experience in the IT sector with positions at Cap Gemini, SAP, GEAC (Dun & Bradstreet Software) ,Comshare, Retek and SeeBeyond
  • Education: Ecole Internationale des Sciences du Traitement de l’Information.


Tom Dziersk, Senior Vice President, Americas
  • Joined JDA in August 2006 to assume the Senior Vice President, Americas position, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in the retail and supply chain enterprise software market.
  • Prior to JDA, spent five years as President and Chief Executive Officer for ClearOrbit, Inc. Successfully re-branded and re-positioned the company, as well as its product and services offerings.
  • Other previous positions include a variety of senior management as well as sales and marketing positions at several emerging technology companies, including Essentus International, Inc. (formerly Richter Systems) and JBA International, Inc (a major ERP software provider).
  • Education: B.A. in Economics with a minor in Computer Science, University of Michigan.
Larry Ferrere, Senior Vice President, Product Management and Chief Marketing Officer
  • Joined JDA in July 2007 as Senior Vice President of Product Management and Chief Marketing Officer, leveraging over 25 years of enterprise and supply chain industry expertise
  • Responsibilities include: Product Management and Solution Experts responsible for product strategy, Global Marketing comprising Branding, Marketing Communications & Services, Product Marketing, Industry Marketing, and Industry Analyst Relations
  • Prior to JDA, held executive leadership roles at Manhattan Associates (2004-2006), InterimOne (2001-2004), Vastera (1997-2001), JDEdwards (1992-1997), and Andersen Consulting/Accenture (1981-1992)
  • Education: BB/BS in Business & Computer Science from Western Illinois University
David Johnston, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Wholesale Distribution
  • Promoted in April 2007 to current position responsible for strengthening executive level relationships with JDA’s manufacturing, wholesale, and distribution customers and key prospects.
  • Previously served as Vice President of Forecasting and Replenishment Solutions responsible for the strategic direction and business development of JDA’s forecasting and replenishment solution offerings.
  • Prior to JDA, held a number of positions at E3 Associates, including Vice President of Industry Marketing and Partner Relationships and Vice President of Product Development.
  • Prior to E3, worked for six years at IBM in the development organization responsible for IBM’s mainframe forecasting and replenishment solutions. Also worked at a department store retailer responsible for merchandising and replenishment systems.
  • Education: Louisiana State University and University of New Orleans, Computer Science.
David King, Ph.D.Senior Vice President, Product Development
  • Joined JDA in January 2004 to drive the product delivery of the JDA Portfolio solutions including its Portfolio Enabled™ .Net applications.
  • Previously served in numerous executive positions in product development including Vice President of Product Planning at Geac (Comshare), a business performance management solutions provider, and Senior Vice President of Product Development and Chief Technology Officer for Comshare, the original developer of Arthur™ planning applications that JDA acquired in 1998.
  • Serves on industrial advisory boards for MIS at the University of Georgia and the International Academy of Advanced Decision Support at the Peter Kiewit Institute of Technology. Authored over fifty articles and books and co-authored Electronic Commerce 2004 (Prentice Hall) and The Strategy Gap (Wiley, 2003).
  • Education: Ph.D. in Sociology with minor in Mathematical Statistics, University of North Carolina.
Chris Moore, Senior Vice President, Customer Support Solutions
  • Promoted to Senior Vice President in January 2004. Responsible for improving customer value in JDA’s global support organization by ensuring consistent, quality support.
  • Previously served as Vice President of Client Support Services; Vice President of Consulting Services, Americas from 2001 to 2003; Vice President of U.S. Consulting Services from 2000 to 2001; Vice President, Consulting, Eastern Region from 1997 to 2000; Director of Consulting Services, Northeast Region from 1995 to 1997. Joined JDA in 1991 as a Project Lead, Northeast Region.
  • Prior to JDA, worked for an IBM business partner where he helped launch a retail consulting group, establishing the company as an IBM AS/400 and POS provider.
  • Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Polytechnic University of NY.
Rod Talbot, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific
  • Promoted in January 2006  responsible for sales, marketing, consulting services and overall operations for JDA’s Asia Pacific offices.
  • Joined JDA Software in 2002 as Country Manager of Japan where he led JDA’s aggressive growth in the country.
  • Previously served as District Sales Manager for EMC Japan data storage company. Introduced Oracle (formerly Retek) to the Japanese market while serving as General Manager of Northern Asia. Also worked as Business Development Manager at global trading company ITOCHU Corp. developing and executing Asian market-entry strategies for global software companies.
  • Education: M.B.A. Deakin University, Victoria, Australia; B.A. Griffith University, Queensland, Australia.


Wayne Usie, Senior Vice President, Retail
  • Transitioned into the Senior Vice President, Retail position in July 2006 to assume responsibility for strengthening executive level relationships with JDA’s retail customers and key prospects.
  • Assumed Senior Vice President, Americas position in January 2003 to bring his in-depth understanding of JDA Portfolio and demand chain requirements to lead the development of customers in JDA’s largest region. All associates in sales and services in the Americas report to Usie.
  • Joined JDA in January 2001. During his tenure, led the research and product development organization through a great deal of change and growth, including the launch of JDA Portfolio 2003.
  • Previously served as Vice President of IT at multi-billion dollar Family Dollar Stores, Inc., a publicly traded mass merchant discount retailer. Led the implementation and management of a number of large packaged systems, including Oracle and Retek, and internally developed applications, to support over 4,000 retail locations and six distribution centers. Also worked in executive positions for a regional retailer and a consulting firm.
  • Education: B.S. in Business Administration, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA.
