JDA Software - The Supply Chain Company

JDA Strategy

Key Capabilities of JDA® Strategy:

  • Time-phased network modeling
  • Optimization strategies for network and inventory performance
  • Cost and profit optimization
  • Supply chain planning integration
  • Shared visibility into time-phased demand and supply plans
  • Web-based user interface

JDA Strategy is a comprehensive linear programming tool set designed to analyze the key factors and optimization strategies associated with operating an end-to-end supply network, including costs, capacity and locations, and then optimize the network to help you achieve the lowest total landed cost and the highest possible profits.

By making it possible to simultaneously optimize millions of costs and constraints for all supply chain elements, suppliers, plants, warehouses, modes, carriers, lanes and customers, the solution gives you the ability to make complex strategic decisions such as site selection decisions, resource utilization decisions, sourcing assignments, plant loadings and mode/carrier decisions.

JDA Strategy has a Web-native, highly intuitive graphical user interface which you use to define analysis objectives, build an accurate network by modeling costs and constraints, run the optimization strategies, and then compare scenarios for actual and hypothetical networks to determine the lowest cost and highest profit network configuration. Once all scenarios are evaluated, users select and implement the optimal network plan that meets business requirements.

This linear programming solution takes the complexity out of network design decisions, solving a complex problem in minutes or hours, rather than days or weeks. Built on a collaborative framework, it allows multiple users to evaluate and share scenarios across your geographically dispersed organization. It also leverages advanced reporting technology that allows scenarios and strategies to be fed into executive planning sessions. The linear programming and collaborative capabilities of the solution promote a repeatable network design process that moves users away from the common spreadsheets that are often used today.

What Customers Are Saying

The implementation of the JDA solution has also taken [James Hardie's] carrier relationships to a whole new level. By allowing the system to ensure that the lowest cost, best-performing carriers always have first right of refusal, the company has been able to maximize freight savings and service. Additionally, the transportation planners are able to shift time that would have previously been spent manually planning the loads to performing more proactive carrier management activities and building stronger logistics infrastructure to support the growing business.
